Sweat Sodium Composition Testing

Athletes often overlook hydration and electrolyte strategy—until race day exposes it. The result: gut issues, sloshy stomachs, and performance drop-offs. But hydration isn’t one-size-fits-all. At The Gait Lab, we use medical-grade testing from Precision Fuel & Hydration to measure your unique sweat sodium concentration in a simple 20–25 minute, non-exercise test.

From there, we translate your data into clear, practical strategies—helping you adjust for sweat rate, environment, and training demands—so you can fuel and hydrate with confidence when it matters most.

Length of test: 60 min includes test, consultation, and individualized report and recommendations: $225


Metabolic testing

  • The Baseline Test: Learn how much fat and carb your body burns at various training efforts to get a personalized fueling plan for your endurance training and competition. Length of appointment: 90 minutes, includes test, consultation, and individualized report and recommendations. Investment: $499

  • Race day simulation: See how your body uses fat and carb to support your race day pacing efforts and dial in your race day fueling plan accordingly. This test can be modified for ultra and multi-day events for better insight into what your body uses for fuel deeper into a race. Length of appointment: 90 minutes, includes test, consultation, and individualized report and recommendations. Investment: $499

  • RMR testing: learn your current resting metabolic rate (RMR) and understand how to build a daily nutrition plan that supports your health, performance, and recovery goals. This can be useful for athletes recovering from an injury, those with changes in training volume, or individuals experiencing unexpected weight fluctuations. Length of appointment: 90 minutes, includes test + consultation. Investment: $250 | Test only (no consultation): 45 minutes, $150
